Excellence in Seafood Training Timaru Fishing School's primary purpose is to introduce the basics of seafood processing and deck-hand skills to trainees before they enter the workforce. Its courses cover the skills needed to meet industry requirements and to ensure safe working practices while at sea. The training programmes offered at the school's modern and purpose-built facilities are relevant for employment on modern, large, deep-sea trawlers, smaller inshore trawlers, land-based processing factories and seafood retail outlets.
